It is the end of an era. Last weekend we closed our booth at Packard's Antiques.
After seven months, we just couldn't put the time we wanted into A Lovely Avenue Booth anymore. We had an absolute blast finding furniture and antiques, fixing them up, and styling our booth. It was a wonderful adventure that we worked on together. Although we were profitable every month, lately we have been blessed that A Lovely Avenue Signs are taking off. We have decided to take that time and refocus it to our signs. We will still have our Etsy shop and Facebook page, but you will start seeing some changes around the blog and Facebook Page to reflect the shift. We are so thankful to everyone that supported us and stopped by our booth. We were sad closing it up on Saturday, but are are so excited for where our signs will take us. I even have some new designs that will be available this week! Until then, thank you again for supporting our booth in the past and our signs in the future!

Last Weekend
We spent last weekend in Atlanta helping my Grandmother pack to move and we found the infamous rocking horse.
After we dragged it out of the attic, my brother Justice and I decided hop on for old times sake. Allegedly, about 20 years ago, we were on this very same horse. Except instead of being all smiles, I guess I didn't really want him riding with me. One "little" push later and we were all in the emergency room watching Justice get stitches under his chin. Luckily, after 20 years, Justice and I were able to ride it together without incident. There were a lot of laughs as everyone watched the two of us try to get on a child sized rocking horse together. Nana and Aunt Julie just giggled in the background as we tried.

Puppy Pool Party
Alan's brother John and his girlfriend Sarah often come over to the house and bring sweet Hattie with them. Hattie is a miniature schnauzer and her and Bennett are in love. Puppy love. Yes, I went there.
The other day Hattie got an awesome pool and it was officially a puppy pool party.
We were sure that Bennett would want nothing to do with the pool. He hates getting his feet wet and going outside in the rain. But the second we put him in it with Hattie he was hooked!
They played in it forever and had a blast. And yes, Hattie has on the cutest puppy swimsuit in the world. It is even reversible.
Did you also notice the tiny twine fence we quickly threw together? We wanted them to be able to play freely, but still safely contained. A few stakes and some twine from the garage was all we needed. It was just enough to deter them from running free. Of course, they were supervised the whole time too. I mean, how could you keep you eyes away from this cuteness?
After a lot of pool time, we all went inside for a break to dry off. A while later, I took Bennett back out and once he was done doing his business, he jumped right back in the pool. He just couldn't get enough.
Overall, it was the best idea ever. Bennett may need his own pool now. But maybe in a more manly color.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
The other day I had myself a craving for some chocolate chip cookies. Luckily I had all the ingredients in the pantry. I used the recipe on the back of the Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chip bag, but omitted the nuts ingredient. My siblings and husband were raving about them and wanted to know the secret. The recipe is no secret of course! But I did cook them for the least amount of time suggested (8 min). That left them super soft, but still cooked completely. I think that is what they loved so much about them.
I am sure I will be making these again, but next time I might need to double the batch!

Signs {Family Rules}
This custom Family Rules sign was created based off the Family Rules available in our shop. Our client wanted it to say Family Rules at the top and to highlight it. She also wanted to add the line "keep moving forward" because that is something her husband says to their children. I just love the personal meaning behind it.
I hope your having a wonderful Thursday Lovelies!

Blogiversary
I can't even believe I started this blog a year ago today! What a year it has been. So much has changed. I want to thank everyone that has taken the time to stop by and read a post or two here. It means so much to me! Alan and I have now been in our house over a year and although there are still updates we want to make and areas we want to decorate, the house right now is in a really good place that I am happy with. It only took a year! But here's to the next year, I can't wait to share it with you!
