With the addition of the new couch, our old Karlstad from Ikea got moved to the office. The office is slowly getting more put together.
When we moved the Karlstad, we got out the tools and completely took it apart. We washed every single one of the covers. The cushion covers are easy enough to take off and wash, the arms and the back required us to dismantle the whole sofa. It was a pain, but we are so glad that we did it because it is back to its' pretty white color. While it was apart, I also painted the legs with a coat of Annie Sloan's Graphite. Such an easy change!
You can see our desk, file organizer, and bookcase that I had talked about previously.
You can see that we even hung a bulletin board over the desk. We had this huge wood frame that was painted gold. I thought it worked well with the more modern lines of the furniture. I just stapled some blue fabric over a cork board and we were in business.
Bennett loves being able to sit in the office now too. I can not wait to hang some art and pictures over the couch. And curtains will bring in some color and pattern.
I would say that now all we really have left to do is add the pretty to the room. We definitely need some more color and pattern in here. Here is how the list looks now.
- Hang bulletin board over desk
- Pillows
-
Art/picture wall- Curtains
- Organize
It's looking good so far! :)
