The Bar is Open

The bar cart done and has all of our bar pretties on it now! In case you missed it, here is when we found it (way back in August!), stripped the brass, and sprayed the wheels.

We are very happy with the way that it turned out. When we started searching for a bar cart, this is exactly what I envisioned.

If you remember, we decided to remove the brass-gold color that was the original finish. Mostly because all of our bar accessories are "antique silver" colored and they just didn't look right with the original shiny gold.

The bar cart's finish now is actually very similar to "antique silver". I think all the sanding to remove the brass gave the silver a rough, duller look. Therefore it worked out prefect! It looks amazing with our ice bucket, shaker, wine opener, and bottle opener that all live on the top.

And the bottles work perfect on the bottom.

If you are wondering, all of our bar accessories on the top shelf are from Pottery Barn, with the exception of the decanter in the back (antique store find) and the flower vase (Old Time Pottery).

Here is where the bar cart is in relation to the living room. The back door to the patio is to the right of it (out of the picture).

Was all the work worth it? Well, maybe during the process, there were a few times that I was thinking that it wasn't. In the end though, I love it. It's very functional and gives us a chance to display all of our bar ware that was previously hidden in the pantry. I don't think I could love it more.
