Football and a Concert

On Friday, Alan and I headed to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama game against Vandy. It was also Homecoming weekend, so Saturday morning we all headed to the strip to watch the parade.

Alan, my brother Justice and his girlfriend Melanie found us a prime location to watch it in front of the Houndstooth.

My sister Kelsey met up with us to watch it too.

I just love parades. All the music and the cheering is just so much fun.

Big Al was there in all of his glory.

They even had a life size elephant. Rumor has it that they use to have real elephants in the parade. That would have been fun!

After the parade, we hung out on the top porch of my sorority. It looks right at the stadium; you can see it behind us.

There were a ton of people there which made it a really fun day. Not to mention that Alabama now has another win under their belt.

Then Sunday we headed to Birmingham to Vulcan Park.

They are doing a concert series this fall. There is another one scheduled in two weeks.

We brought our bag chairs and a comfy quilt and were ready to watch some music.

Scars on 45 played, they have a song on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack. There were also 2 other bands.

It was really fun just hanging out in the park with my brother Justice and his girlfriend Melanie.

The best part was that we were able to visit the museum and the top of the tower because it was included in our admission price to the concert.

The tower was a little higher then I liked, but it gave you beautiful views of Birmingham.

The Vulcan is the largest cast iron statue in the world and all that iron came right from Birmingham. Pretty cool. Overall, it was a great fall weekend in the south.
