I spy with my little eye... a vintage bar cart!!
Alan and I were at Hartlex Antiques and Interiors in Madison, when we found this beauty. It was shoved in the corner of a booth with tons of random stuff on it. So we unburied it to get a better look at it. You can tell that we are still inside the antique store because of the awesome colored floors.
I admit, I had been dreaming of a bar cart. They are everywhere right now. It seems like every HGTV show I have watched in the past month has featured a bar cart somewhere in the room. So while we were at Hartlex, It was one of the things I had in the back of my mind. And we found the perfect one! Its brass and all the gold parts actually are in the shape of bamboo. So for $85 bucks we loaded it up and took it home. And once we got it inside, I googled bamboo bar carts and look at some of the beauties I found.
I found these two in Pinterest here and here. I love that they are still the gold color. They just look so chic. I love that each have art hanging over them.
When I found this picture, I thought it looked similar to our bar cart, except for the extra little bar on each shelf. Well when I clicked over to the website here, what I saw there BLEW MY MIND! Guess how much they are selling this bar cart for.. go ahead guess. I bet you can tell from the mind blowing that it is more than the $85 we spent. How about $3,400? ......What? Yes, that is right you can buy this bar cart for $3,400. And no, it is not made of pure gold. So I feel pretty awesome about the deal we got on ours. It has a very similar look for a fraction of the price.
Now all I have to do it decide what to do with it. Do we leave it gold? Do we strip the brass (which apparently is possible) making it silver? Or do we paint it glossy white? Or a color?
