Saturday, Alan and I were in Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama's Sorority Bid Day. Talk about crazy. They shut down all of sorority row and all of the new members go into the stadium and receive their bid for their new sorority. When they open them you can hear screams of glee from where we wait for them to come running out. Family, friends, active members and of course fraternity boys, all stand in the streets to watch them come running to their new sorority.
Of course before it all happens we had to take some group pictures in our newly renovated sorority house.
Here is Mom, my little sister Kelsey and me in the new dining room. Kelsey joined my sorority last year. She was the one giving us the tour of the new house because it doesn't even look anything like it did when I was there.
My brother Justice and his girlfriend Melanie, who is also one of my pledge sisters.
And then of course me and Alan. It was nice and cool inside, but then it was time to move outside to wait for the crazy to begin.
Photographers set up in front of each house to take giant group pictures. And when I say giant, I mean GIANT. This year each house on campus, there are 16, got a freshman pledge class with around 95 girls. And that isn't even including active members. So when they are taking a whole house group picture is can be 200-300 girls. GIANT!
Active members waiting in front of the house for the new girls to come running up. They then feed the new girls and give them a tour of the house.
Finally, the new girls came running down the street and Bid Day is over for Alan and I. It is a fun day in Tuscaloosa and I am glad that we all went. Once it was over Mom, Justice, Melanie, Alan and I then headed to the lake house in Cullman.
I was searching for photos on google of alabama things, and came across this! I'm a sister at delta omicron! Small world :) TLAM
